• Performing Company Rules

  • Rules/Regulations:

    • Dancers must tryout for team every year if moving up a company level.
    • Dancers must attend a one hour a week ballet class at our dance studio unless they are attending Douglas Anderson School of the Arts and majoring in dance.
    • Dancers will attend a one-hour jazz class at The World of Dance per week.
    • Dancers must be enrolled in a one hour a week turns and leaps class at our dance studio.
    • Attendance must be enforced. You cannot miss your core classes continuously. This could be cause for dismissal from company. (Parties are not excused).
    • If you miss a practice before a show, you may be asked not to perform in that up-coming event.
    • We will be performing dances. If you cannot perform with your face as well as your body, performing company is not for you.
    • No nail polish, gum, or jewelry, at any shows.
    • You must keep up your appearance; weight, hair, and make-up.
    • Cell phones must be turned off in the dance rooms.
    • Tardiness will not be accepted.
    • Being in performing company does not mean you will dance at all shows. If you do not know your routines, you may be asked not to perform in a show.
    • You must show respect to all faculty members and fellow dancers.
    • Gossiping will not be tolerated. It only causes problems between students and parents and we need to support one another. This can result in dismissal from performing company.
    • Company members should come to class dressed for success. Other students look up to you and you should be prepared to dance.
    • Parents remember, each dancer learns at their own level. Keep in mind that while all of us want our children to be the best they can be, sometimes they will have failures. This will be their time to grow. These experiences will help them be better equipped for adulthood.
    • The purpose of the performing company is to work together as a team. We need to support each other. troublemakers will not be tolerated.
    • All company members must help with the cost of gas and storage of the company trailer to and from all competitions. They must also help load and unload before each competition regardless of who has props in the trailer.
    •  Team Jacket
    • You will be required to purchase a team jacket, which will cost around $103.00. You will be required to wear this jacket to all dance seminars and competitions to represent our dance school. You will need to wear your jacket at every award ceremony as you receive your awards on stage. 
    • Company Costume
    • You will need to purchase a performing company costume. This costume will be your costume for the dance recital for your jazz class. The cost will be approximately $85.00-$100.00.
    • Dance Seminar
    • You will be required to attend one dance seminar a year. This seminar will cost approximately $265.00-$285.00 without hotel or food.
    • Dance Competition
      Dancers are required to attend 2 competitions per year. The typical cost for a competition is: 
    • This does not includes the cost for extra practices before competition. They will be scheduled accordingly.
      **Also hotel fees if competition is out of town.
    • Company Make-up
      You will need to purchase eye shadow, blush, lip stick, and lip liner from the Mode Dion Company. We all do our make-up the same way for each competition. The Senior Company has a different lipstick than the other groups.
